"Tera mujhse purana hai nata koi, aise hi koi dil lubhata nahi.... jaane tu.......ya jaane naa..........maane tu.....ya maane naa........."
Every once in a while you want to go for a movie and see an absolute timepass and entertaining movie. Jaane Tu is just that. It is by no means a great movie, nor does it pretend to be.
The story is the same old same old....boy and gal........best of friends............love....friendship et al.......
But where jaane tu scores is in the absolute freshness of the movie. The cast which is pretty competent and good, and ofcourse the music (AR Rahman is well brilliant yaar).
The special apperances and cameos in the movie do just what they are supposed to, be special. Sohail and Arbaaz khan are propably at their best in their screen time in this movie. Naseeruddin Shah as the speaking portrait Rathore is actually so well fitted into the script. Paresh Rawal as the irritating inspector proves yet again that he is one of the most talented actors around.
The dialogues in the movie are pretty decent. Not too clever not too overboard just subtle enough to crack you up at times and just enough to bring a smile.
The actors as I mentioned were cast perfectly. The gujju Jigness or the fat rotlu.
Genelia is cute and actually captures your attention at times. Though i think she should work on her pronounciation, the UK bred south star is found wanting at times. Imran Khan is differnt in that he has a good screen presence without being too loud or over the top in his appearance. Definitely different from the stereotypical hindi protagnist and yet capable of being one.
I have seen this movie twice already and will most certainly see it again. It is not my most favourite movie but hey I like it none the less.
