THE CITY n THEM RAINDROPS

The rains are here and well I just couldn't resist writing this piece. Sitting at home having something hot to eat might just be a great way to spend your time. If you do happen to have some means of transport and don't mind getting wet then I guess these are the places to be in. Well, at least they are my favourite places to be in this city during the rains.

1) worli sea face-Haji Ali:

This place is great to be in even when there are no rains. But something about the monsoons just makes this place come alive. with the added attraction of the Bandra-worli Sea link, a walk on this promenade is all set to enhance your current status of mind. trust me if you are happy you will end up being elated. On the other hand if you are sad I suggest don't get too close to the rocks.
A great place to be near is the Haji-ali juice centre. You get to see the waves splashing across the darga and enjoy some fast food while you are at it.

2)Lonavala

Fine it isn't in Mumbai technically but a one and a half hour drive is as good as travelling to south -mumbai (only in terms of time spent). The weather and the isolation that this place provides ( away from the main market place) is truly amazing. A few friends some hot chai and a smoke or drink (i prefer neither) will make that moment linger in your memory just that tad bit longer.

3)Eastern-Expressway

Now I am just talking about a drive say from Mulund to Chembur. My favourite experience has been inside a Honada CRV with slightly overcast conditions. If it is safe and isn't raining too much a drive down this road is excellent. With all the fly overs on this stretch of road you never hit any traffic.

4)Bandra-Bandstand

OK, everyone goes here so what's new? I still prefer this to Carter road any day. Sure you might have a few hundred or thousand people here but where in Mumbai are there no people? If you really want some fun try reaching the place well past midnight. It isn't deserted at that hour but is just about right.

5)Not just Jazz-Pizzaria-Nariman Point

Yes this again isn't something you never knew about. I never promised this article to be anything but a known entity. Have a pizza at around say 4pm followed by a walk right from the end of the Queen's necklace. Have dinner and then go off for a drive. Trust me you will never feel better.
